Just a short report back on all the church activities as we start the new year:
Alpha: We had our first Alpha Supper for the New Year, and had no new guests – yet! We have 2 people who have said they will be at the first talk this coming Tuesday – please pray hard for new guests, and do invite someone to attend!
Bear Cubs: The Thursday afternoon session is taking off very nicely. We have 4-10 moms at a session now, and the group seems to be growing, with moms from the community dropping in for a session when they see the bear cubs sign outside the church. Monday mornings are still getting known – please welcome any moms or dads that you know in the area to attend!
Explorers: The year has started off with a change in leadership – Karen with the help of Pat has taken over the leadership of the group from Margaret, who has faithfully served us for so many years. Margaret will still be involved as much as possible – thank you for investment Margaret, and thanks to Karen and Pat for being willing to lead this vital part of our churches work.
Home Group/Searching Issues: Both have got off to a good start for the New Year. The Home Group will be starting a bible study series on “The Prayer of Jabez”, which was part of Karen’s new year message, and searching issues continues to explore the question of why God allows suffering. You are warmly invited to attend either of these meetings on a Wednesday night.
Thursday Ecumenical Prayer mornings: We hosted 11 local vicars, ministers, and leaders on the 13th January in the Alpha room for our turn in hosting the meeting. This coming week sees the start of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. Our Church will be hosting the meeting on Friday Morning, and all are welcome and invited to attend from 7.30-8 am.
Friday night Prayer meetings: These are going well with all our core members back, and we invite anyone who wants to join us in the flat for worship, prayer and fellowship starting at 8.
Saturday Morning Prayer meetings have resumed normal activities, and Thelma and the team would love to have everyone who is interested in praying for the church and other things the Holy Spirit leads in to join them at 9 am.
