This blog is now available at the rather more friendly address of http://blog.sccdeptford.org.uk

E-mail addresses

The new sccdeptford.org.uk address is live and working. It comes will a mail setup, so we can provide @sccdeptford.org.uk e-mail addresses to anyone who needs them. The addresses can be set to work with your own e-mail software, but they also come with their own webmail at http://webmail.sccdeptford.org.uk.

So far, alpha@sccdeptford.org.uk is up and running. Any thoughts on useful other ones?

I really enjoyed going to this Monday night's meeting of Sunny's new project, World Peace Mission. If you've time check the growing website (the URL is www.worldpeacemission.org.uk) or just go along like I did (or both!). Adam, next time your in the engine room, wouldn't it be good to put a link to the site on our blog?

New photo album: cleaning up

There's a new photo album on the left, with all the picture I too when we tidied up and cleared out the old building, and today's secret garden tidying.

Decision Time

I'm hoping to do some serious work on the church website this weekend. However, we do need to give a little thought as to the status of this blog. Should it be a private blog, accessible only to church members? If so, I'll turn password protection on. Should it be a semi-public face, accessible to anyone who drops by?

What are your thoughts?

Making Posting Easier

I don't actually use the Typepad website to post to the blog much. Instead I use a blogging application, which I find much easier. Somehow, it's quicker to fire up an application and write a post then logging into the website. Just to make everyone's lives a little easier, here are links to the two best blog clients I've found. Categories

The blog now has proper relevant categories and a category listing on the right, to help make it easier to find old posts. Please choose the most appropriate category when you make a post, of add a new one if nothing matches!

Changes

As you'll have noticed, we now have a photo album on the left (with more to follow) and spaces for links. If you've any suggestions of good links to put in there, let me know.

Blogging Deptford?

Well, Alan asked how long it would take to create a blog for the church. I had a Typepad account that I'd been experimenting with for Kingdom Come, but was about to delete. I though this might be an ideal solution for us, if we wanted to go forward together with it. It took me, oh, all of ten minutes to create the blog over a cup of coffee.

What do you all think?

We can password-protect the site if people would prefer it to be private, incidentally.
