I don't actually use the Typepad website to post to the blog much. Instead I use a blogging application, which I find much easier. Somehow, it's quicker to fire up an application and write a post then logging into the website. Just to make everyone's lives a little easier, here are links to the two best blog clients I've found. Give 'em a try:

There is a Windows version under development, but it isn't ready for prime time just yet
